***WOMEN'S SELF DEFENSE SEMINAR SERIES***
SiJo Frank also came out and initiated HCAA's Women's Self Defense seminar series for Texas and we are ready to begin the follow up work shops for that this October.
The WSD series is a separate course from Hurricane's core art and is dedicated to providing the women in our communities realistic and effective means of protecting themselves.
These women really put themselves into the course completely!
We had my senior student SiDai Bill Bronson geared up in our own version of a "Red Man Suit" (padded up pretty thick to take abuse) and turned the women loose on him!
With SiJo's instruction and "ecouragement", the women went at him hard. They were so fierce that we found the need to add more padding to the "suit"!

I'm proud of all the attendees for their diligence and commitment to "get into it" and make it a great learning experience!

***This course has a personal meaning to me. I have come to discover many -including family members- as well as friends and co-workers who have been victims of violent crime in their past.
I consider it more of a mission than a service to provide real life solutions to combating this type of predatory behavior. Having worked in Mental Health Treatment Centers - I gained a vast amount of insight into the effects that such crimes have had in people's lives.
To prevent this from occurring - we MUST train, enable and empower people from being victims to this evil behavior that exists!
For those who have already fallen victim in the past - we MUST help them overcome that realized fear and future fear by teaching them the skills, tools and mindset to prevent it from ever happening again.
That being said - you can imagine that this is no ordinary "self-defense" course. It is why we have the main seminars and follow up work shops available for each seminar. It is why SiJo Frank has compiled and built a course series that is comprehensible and usable from the moment one starts the training plus having follow up workshops to further reinforce and expand on what is learned.
At any price this training is invaluable yet, we have made it very affordable in an effort to have it available to as many women as we can.
